Saudi Arabia hosts Russia and the United States of America

Following a phone conversation between the presidents of Russia and that of the USA in finding a lasting solution to the Ukriane conflict, a high delegation from both sides are currently meeting in Saudi  Arabia to discuss possible ways to end the conflict and also to cement bilateral relationship which has been marred by the conflict in recent years.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is leading the team from the Russian Federation whereas the Secretary of State of the United States of America is leading a high profile delegation from their side. 

This meeting is to prepare the grounds for the two presidents of the most powerful nations to meet face to face in the very near future in Saudi Arabia. 

Ukraine and the European union were not invited in this initial meeting. Ukriane has vowed not to recognize any decision taken at this meeting without their involvement.
